User Ratings and Reviews

4 Stars I really wanted to give it 5 stars….
After reading all the ins-and-outs of each tomato, i was really excited to start ordering seeds for the garden. Out of the 30 or so that i picked, i was only able to find about half. It was such a tease to find something described as ‘juicy’, ‘perfect’, ’so sweet’ only to find that they aren’t available. All in all that’s my only complaint. Not so bad really. The descriptions are detailed and broken down by flavor, history, best uses for, harvest time, plant type (indet./det.), etc. Very concise and well formatted. The recipes look wonderful. Can’t wait to try those! They’re comprehensive and some give recommendations as far which type of tomato is good for the recipe. A well thought out book with georgeous photographs.

5 Stars A must have!
I have all of Amy Goldman’s books and they are beautifully illustrated and full of useful information. I would highly recommend this book.

5 Stars The Heirloom Tomato
I love this book. The only downside is that all the beautiful pictures make me hungry.

5 Stars perfect gift
Gave this beautiful book to a friend expanding her heirloom tomato plantings over the past couple of years. She was thrilled, and cannot wait to add some new varieties to her ‘09 garden.

5 Stars Tomato Lover
This Heirloom Tomato book is perfect for anyone who loves tomatoes. I bought it for a friend for Christmas who does. She loved it. The photographs are so beautiful and tantalizing. Makes your mouth water just looking at them. So it would be a nice coffee table book. But for the true tomato lover, it has the history of many heirloom varieties, planting seasons, etc. if you’re interested in cultivating from seeds. It has lists of resources and great recipes in the last half of the book. Wonderfully done.
